"I cannot express how important it is to believe that taking one tiny—and possibly very uncomfortable—step at a time can ultimately add up to a great distance."

Tig is basically reminding us that big changes are built out of tiny, awkward moments. We tend to wait for the perfect plan, the big burst of motivation, the “right time” But life usually moves forward in small, unglamorous steps: sending that email you’re dreading, going for a 10-minute walk when you feel low, having one honest conversation instead of fixing an entire relationship overnight.
Those little steps often feel too small to matter, or so uncomfortable that we avoid them. But over time, they quietly stack up into real progress. It’s comforting, really, you don’t have to have everything figured out today. You just have to be willing to take the next small, slightly scary step, and trust that distance is being covered even when it doesn’t look impressive yet.
