"If you think you can do it, you can."

This quote is really about how powerful your own belief can be. It’s not saying that just thinking happy thoughts magically makes things happen. It’s more that when you genuinely believe you can do something, you show up differently. You’re more likely to try, to stick with it when it’s awkward or hard, to learn what you don’t know yet.
Think about times you’ve surprised yourself: speaking up in a meeting, running farther than you thought, having a hard conversation you were dreading. The shift usually started in your head: “Maybe I actually can do this.” Burroughs is nudging us to notice how often we talk ourselves out of things before we even begin and to consider what might happen if, just a little more often, we didn’t.
