"Love cures people, both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it."

Menninger’s quote reminds us that love isn’t a one way gift. When we offer patience to a stressed partner, encouragement to a friend, or tenderness to someone who’s hurting, we’re not only helping them feel seen and supported, we’re also softened in the process. Love pulls us out of our own worries and reconnects us with what matters. It doesn’t magically fix every wound, but it creates the conditions where healing can begin: safety, belonging, and hope. And often, in choosing to care for someone else, we rediscover our own capacity for kindness, courage, and joy. Love heals because it reminds both people: you’re not alone.
