Inspirational quote by Robert Schuller

Explanation

This quote is a gentle reminder that while pain can teach us, it doesn’t have to steer the whole ship. We all carry hurts, disappointments, failures, betrayals, losses and it’s easy to start making choices from a place of fear: avoiding risks, closing our hearts, expecting the worst. But hope invites us to ask a different question: “What good could still be possible?” It doesn’t mean pretending the past didn’t happen. It means refusing to let it be the author of every next chapter. Whether you’re starting over after a breakup, rebuilding confidence after a setback, or simply trying again, let your vision for what could be stronger than the wounds of what was.

About the Author

Robert H. Schuller (1926–2015) was an American pastor, author, and pioneering televangelist born in rural Iowa to a Dutch American family and ordained in the Reformed Church in America. He founded a small drive in church in California in 1955 that grew into the famed Crystal Cathedral and launched Hour of Power, one of the most widely watched religious broadcasts in the world. Schuller is best remembered for his “possibility thinking” message, an upbeat blend of Christian faith, hope, and personal renewal that made him a major voice in American inspirational religion. His emphasis on rising above pain and choosing a hopeful future helps explain the spirit behind his quote: “Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future.”
