Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill (1883-1970) was an American self help pioneer who rose from poverty in rural Virginia to become one of the most influential motivational writers of the 20th century. Commissioned, he said, by industrialist Andrew Carnegie to study the habits of highly successful people, Hill spent over 20 years interviewing icons like Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, and Henry Ford. His landmark book Think and Grow Rich (1937) distilled their common principles, desire, belief, persistence, into a philosophy of personal achievement that has sold tens of millions of copies worldwide. Hill is best remembered for popularizing the idea that thoughts are powerful creative forces, which helps explain his conviction that whatever the mind can clearly conceive and truly believe, it can set in motion to achieve.
