“Some people look for a beautiful place. Others make a place beautiful.”
Hazrat Khan
1882 to 1927
What it means
When Hazrat Khan says, "Some people look for a beautiful place. Others make a place beautiful," he’s reminding us there are two ways to live: waiting for the perfect backdrop, or bringing warmth and care wherever you are. It’s the friend who won’t go out because the café isn’t trendy, versus the one who lights candles, plays music, and makes the evening feel special. It shows up in homes, jobs, and relationships, painting a dull room, offering a smile in a tense meeting, or planting a tiny garden on a balcony. Beauty often comes from effort, attention, and kindness, not just the setting you stumble into.
